The following is a formal statement made by Cynthia Retana, the principal of El Dorado High School, on the verbal threat made this morning to the high school. The student in question has been apprehended.

“Hi, this is Cynthia Retana, principal of El Dorado High School. I am calling to provide you an update regarding the verbal threat I reported to you this morning. The student who made the threat has been apprehended and will face serious legal and administrative consequences. I also would like to take this opportunity to thank our Aztec community for promptly sharing information with authorities, which led to this swift legal action and the continued safety of our school community. Thank you for your continued trust and support of El Dorado High School and Team SISD!”
