The DECA and Cosmetology clubs will offer little girls in the El Dorado area a day of pampering with their favorite princesses this Saturday at El Dorado High School. This beauty day at the spa is also giving back during this season of charity. For every five tickets sold, organizers of the event will donate a ticket to a little girl from Candlelighters, an organization that enriches the lives of children with cancer.

“This the least we can do for those children who are enduring tremendous hardship,” said DECA advisor and event coordinator Erika Lucero. “We want those little girls to experience being treated like the little princesses they are.”

The theme of this event is Disney’s very hot and very popular movie “Frozen.” According to cosmetology instructor and event coordinator Michelle Saucedo, she didn’t plan on making the day all about “Frozen” at first, but she wanted to incorporate princesses into the event.

With “Frozen” being the latest craze with little girls across the world, Saucedo and Lucero knew bringing the movie’s famous ice world to life would be a hit. The little girls attending this day of fun will receive treatment fit for a princess Saturday, Dec. 6.

“My own daughters love ‘Frozen,’ so I knew this theme would really attract young girls to this event,” Lucero said. “The movie teaches a great lesson about the love between sisters and I think it’s a lesson that little girls need to hear more.”

Saucedo, one of the organizers of the event, said she has been impressed by the enthusiasm her students and the DECA members have for this special project.

“I’ve done this in the past but for women. I got the idea from Socorro and Eastlake high schools’ cosmetology department,” Saucedo said. “I just kind of feed off of that, but it’s never been to this magnitude.”

There are two different packages that can be purchased. The Olaf Package, priced at $29.99 comes with:

The second package, the Elsa and Ana Package, costs $39.99 and includes:

The hall outside the cosmetology room is decorated to resemble the snowy landscape of Frozen and the day of pampering is expected to bring smiles to little girls’ faces, Lucero said. The little ones will be in for a happy, “Frozen” surprise!
