New videogame gains shocking fan base

By Kiana Cruz

A new video game has hit the market and become an addiction for teens everywhere. The game is called “Fortnite” and is a survival-based game developed by Epic Game. The game hit 10 million players in two weeks, which is faster than any other game, according to Forbes.com magazine.

“Fortnite has brought back that middle-school, late-night gaming,” Youtuber Dee Shack said. “Its brought back the competition and teamwork in gaming, and excitement in winning that hasn’t been there since MW2.”

“Fortnite” has up to four-players mode, where you cooperate on various missions on randomly-generated maps to collect resources. You can build fortifications around defensive objectives that are meant to help fight the storm and protect survivors.

There are two different modes. “Save the World” focuses on saving people from a zombie apocalypse. The other mode, “Battle Royale,” places the player on a slowly-decreasing map along with 100 other online competitors. The last one standing is crowned victor.

The game released July 25, 2017 and can be played on Microsoft Windows, MacOS, Playstation4 and Xbox One.

“My favorite thing about Fortnite is that its like Minecraft mixed with Call of Duty,” sophomore Carlos Ornelas said.

So now throw your fidget spinners to the side and grab your controller. You don’t want to miss out on this awesome video game.
