Empire Experience is a production of the advanced A/V class at El Dorado High School, under the direction of media technology teacher Dermic Sanchez. The production crew alternates with incoming juniors and seniors and features news, sports, entertainment and other topics that are important to the student body. Raider Smiles. Smiling brightly at the camera, juniors Iratze Rede, Aliana Acuna, Miley Pinon and Frida Estrada take a picture at Texas Tech University after competing in the UIL regional competition. Cramming last-minute practices between the competitions, the girls prepared more than ever. “I loved being surrounded by my favorite people,” Acuna said. “I honestly felt a mix of emotions because I felt confident in some of my responses but I am so happy I accomplished one of my biggest goals.”

A Memory in a Snap. There is so much more beyond this sport, don't take it for granted the time you have left; it will all soon be over within a blink of an eye. Remember that this game is meant to be fun and not anything else. Respect the game and it will reward you back,” Vargas said.

Extra Steps. Taking the long way to get to the student parking lot, senior Mia Jade Colmenero walks along the newly-installed fence alongside the football field on April 16. Instead of walking down the concrete, Colmenero had to walk to the softball field to exit the wall of fences. “I honestly think the gates will cause way more of a safety hazard to us, in case of an emergency we will all be trampled to get out,” Colmenero said.

Terrazas and Martinez became friends when they were assigned to be locker buddies their sophomore year. “Gabe and I have grown a lot closer,” Martinez said. “Being with each other everyday for three years formed a bond that is nearly unbreakable.”
