Pouting in character, freshman Maya Torres and senior Madeylnn Lopez perform a scene together on April 23 at the theater for the play, “And They Dance Real Slow In Jackson.” During Torres’s first year in the program, she experienced the first Area competition in the Xochiphilli Theater Company history. “It was really amazing to go to Lubbock during my first year. I loved the experience and now I know what to expect for next year,” Torres said.
People of the Heart
Looking at his opponent, senior Ryan Estrada thinks of the perfect play on Aug. 19 at Andress High School. Estrada is El Paso’s Time Leading Rusher. “Well, it was exciting seeing all the supporters from the stands, and we knew we couldn’t upset them," Estrada said. “We always try to come out stronger for each game.”
FNL Through the Lens
Writing on her packet, senior Jocelyn Sanchez focuses entirely on the computer in front of her. Sanchez is completing her classwork in room D206 on December 16. Sanchez has always worked hard to complete all her assignments on time, preparing herself for future classes and early mornings. ‘It was the middle of finals week, and I was stressing, with EPCC classes ending and grades due that same week, I knew I had to lock in before Christmas break, so there I was studying for my biology exam, which eventually did pay off as I ended up with a 95 - a score I was very proud of myself for,” Sanchez said.
To: Our Future

During the process, senior Mia Luna found the moment heartwarming. “Loading up the truck with the gifts felt really rewarding because I finally got to see the vast amount of gifts the school was able to donate to families who are in an unfortunate situation during the holidays," Luna said.
