Paola Duran is a junior in the International Baccalaureate program and has been on staff for two years. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Aztec Gold Online News and is involved in other clubs including DECA, NHS, debate, mock trial, and a club she helped co-found called Youth in Pursuit of Policy. Outside of school she enjoys weightlifting, reading, writing and photography. Duran also enjoys volunteering at the El Paso Food Bank and her local elderly home and hopes to be able to volunteer at the Humane Society and homeless shelter this upcoming year. She wishes to attend Yale University and major in political science to later pursue a career as a criminal defense attorney. Last year, she helped cover the orchestra, folklorico, IB, NHS, and sophomore section pages for The Legend 2020 yearbook.
