The Cross Country team began their 2025 season with many new faces and tackling new courses. With this year being the last season to compete in for many athletes, they strive to make it the best out of their high school journey.

Keeping her stride, senior Vanessa Vasquez maintains a level view of her path as she runs in the Canutillo Invitational Meet on Aug. 17. Vasquez’s knee started hurting a few days prior to the race but she pushed through the pain to finish. “Before my race I felt nervous but also felt confident because we had done this course in previous years,” Vasquez said. “After my race, I felt exhausted and proud because I had knocked 44 seconds off my time.”
