Celebrate fall with Las Cruces corn maze

Celebrate fall with Las Cruces corn maze

By Mia Drake

The fall season is here and in full effect.

What’s more fun to do during this season, then heading to the local pumpkin patch and grabbing a souvenir? This weekend, I went and visited the Mesilla Valley Maze in Las Cruces and it was an experience I wouldn’t want to forget.

The Mesilla Valley Maze is not only a corn maze; it’s a place where you can enjoy the maze while doing so many fun fall activities.

The area is a giant five-acre corn maze with duck races, giant slides, hayrides and don’t forget the beautiful pumpkin patch, where you can pick the perfect pumpkin out of the bunch, for you to carve, bake and enjoy.

Throughout the pathways, there are twists and turns making you feel as if you can’t get out. There is a little pop-up gift shop filled with – pumpkins, real Indian corn and fall home décor.

The Maze originally opened up back in the 1990s, after all of the chile harvest at the farm died. It was replaced with the corn and the business is now celebrating its sixteenth year in commission.

The Mesilla Valley Maze is located at 3855 West Picacho Avenue in Las Cruces, and will be opened until Oct. 30, 2016. mesilla_valley_
