Aztecs Dominate Area Track Invitational

El Dorado will be represented well at the Regional Track and Field Invitational April
28-29, after many of its athletes placed in first the top four spots at the area meet,
which was held on April 21. Of the other high schools in SISD, El Dorado has more
athletes attending the regional meet than any other school, and has one of the best
showings in the city.
Head Track Coach Ronald Promesse has trained state-bound athletes and relays that
have the potential to take the sport by storm.
The girls 4×2 relay team, consisting of Jade Williams, Elizabeth Hinojosa, Amaya
Taylor and Raquel Najera, qualified in fourth place with a time of 1:46.71.
The boys 4×4 relay team, consisting of Darian Johnson, Tommy Lopez, Ethan
Delgado and Sebastian Moreno, qualified in first place with an elite time of 3:17.93
Sophomore long jumper Jeramea Dennison qualified in second place with a jump of
17 feet, 8 inches.
Senior Demaijah Birdsong qualified in second place with a time of 10.77.
The 800 duo of Ethan Delgado and Sebastian Moreno qualified as well. Delgado
clocked into second place with a time of 1:57.89, while Moreno placed in fourth with
a time of 1:59.29.
Junior jumper Willie Croslen cleared a height of 6 feet, 2 inches to secure his third
place spot.
These athletes will be competing against the best in the region, and are looking to
get another top four spot to advance to state finals. The meet will be at University of
Arlington’s track facility. Texas Milesplit will provide live meet results for instant
