Aztecs dominate at SISD science fair

This weekend, Aztec students of all grade levels represented the Aztec Empire and participated in the annual SISD Science Fair. Here is a glimpse of who participated, and took an award home. Senior Matthew Tomlinson won the Science Fair Sweepstakes Award for Engineering Categories.
In the Freshman/Sophomore Division:
Trinity Erales – First Place Biochemistry
Team of Alexa Hernandez and Jenny Cha – First Place in Chemical Energy
Team of Aixarret Hernandez and Lia Rodriguez – Second Place in Microbiology
Any students who placed first or second place will advance to the Sun Country Regional Science Fair.
In the Junior/Senior Division:
Gisselle Contreras – First Place in Chemistry
Matthew Tomlinson – First Place in Mathematics
Joel Cardoso – First Place in Physical Energy
Joshua Dantzler – Second Place in Biochemistry
Ronnie Harding – Second Place in Microbiology
Savannah Aguilera – Second Place in Translational Medicine
Chris Tiscareno – Second Place in Systems Software
Team of Rene Aguilar and Daniel Matus – First Place in Chemical Energy
Team of Vanessa Pacheco and Madison Poppe- Second Place in Mathematics
Team of Christopher Espinoza and Candy Leyva – Second Place in Earth and Environmental Sciences
Team of David Guereca and Felipe Carlos – Second Place in Robotics and Intelligent Machines
Team of William Croslen, Hector Muniz, and Christian Alaniz – Second Place in Materials Science
