The Aztecs went to Wolfforth, Texas once again Friday to take on the Frenship Tigers. After beating the Tigers 49-42 in an incredible comeback last year, the Aztecs weren’t able to repeat that success.
Though the first half of the game didn’t disappoint, El Dorado ultimately fell to Frenship 43-38 in a close loss.
To start, El Dorado came out strong, scoring on the first drive with a touchdown pass to senior Torian Jordan. The Tigers came back making the score at halftime 23-14.
Coming out of the locker room after halftime, the Aztecs were scoreless in the third quarter, but came out strong in the fourth with a touchdown run by senior Sergio Gonzalez, and a touchdown pass to senior Cameron Covington.
Although it was a tough loss, the Aztecs have a lot to look forward to. They had over 600 yards total, including over 400 passing yards and 200 rushing yards, just in this game.
The Aztecs face Gadsden at 6 p.m. Thursday at the SAC.
