What I Learned in Isolation

The times are changing

This summer was unlike any other. It was bittersweet to have an extended break that started in March. Going into my senior year, I do wish I could go back and cherish each moment. However, the summer was productive for me.

When the summer started, I was excited to be able to do things that I have been wanting to do. For example, painting walls and cleaning the back yard. Like everyone else I was able to reach so many personal goals. I was able to grow closer with my family as well.

Over the summer I had a lot of time to self-reflect. I had time to get in tune with my emotions and I had time to work on my mental health. I spent a lot of FaceTime movie marathons and class with my friends and I was able to build a stronger relationships with a lot of my friends.

As the school year is starting, I am excited to finish high school. Even though we won’t have our traditional first day I can still make the best out of it. The only thing I can hope for is a normal graduation.
