Hampton signs with Utah

After many months of deciding, senior Tyquez Hampton signed to the University of Utah Friday morning in the theater. Hampton signed on a full ride scholarship to live out his dream of playing college ball with the Utes.
“It feels great being able to choose a school that’s so great academically outstanding and best suits me athletically,” Hampton said.
Every Saturday, Hampton will don the grey, black and red at Rice-Eccles Stadium, where the talents of Steve Smith Sr., Josh Gordon and Eric Weddle have shined prior to their illustrious NFL careers. Hampton chose Utah after many other offers from schools.
“Academics was a huge part of it (the decision) and another thing was the progression of the team going into the top 10 in the polls, as well the family friendly environment for me and my family.”
Hampton finished the season with 989 total yards and 17 touchdowns in his senior year of play. He will also be graduating early so he can attend college early.
“I’m going to work hard, try to become a starter and get my degree,” Hampton said.
